Mannheim Steamroller Shipshewana reviews
Stary the holidays off with your favorite
The Mannheim Steamroller group was excellent. They all played multiple instruments and brought together all the elements to hear the music we have come to love. Since it is the 35th anniversary of the 1st Christmas album we were lucky enough to hear it played in the exact order for the second half of the show. We heard a couple of new songs from a newly released CD as well. If you have grown up with this group a lot of the visuals made a cobnection. But if you are new to Mannheim Steamroller the visuals may seems old and not as fresh as they could be in today's tech driven society. But the music was classic. Sad to see his daughter not sing on our tour and we saw it on video but the leads and orchestra were fabulous! We are traveling this Christmas so it really helped to start our holiday season off rignt. Awesome
Disappointed
I have followed Mannheim Steamroller since their first Fresh Aire album. I got to finally see a performance in person with this Christmas presentation. The music and arrangements were great, however the video and lighting effects were somewhat bland. With today’s digital technology, one would think that the video would be crisp. It was like watching a non-HD television presentation. This may have been due to the limitations of the theater.
One other distraction to the evening was the parking problem. I paid in advance for parking. Unfortunately, the parking pass did not scan so I had to pay a second time. I spoke with other patrons who parked at the Soledad location and they also experienced the same problem.
All in all a 5 star evening lost a star due to these minor issues.
The first time I went it was great, but...
I have been a super fan of their Christmas music since the first CD. I LOVED the first Christmas concert I got to attend and couldn't wait for the next chance and the next. Each time is amazing, but I hoped they would change the program at some point. They have so many wonderful songs to choose from their playlist, yet they still take up a lot of the program with the same Medieval songs series and accompanying video. I would love to see a fresh coat of paint. The performance itself is transporting and a wonderful way to celebrate the season.
