Low energy
A large runway surrounded the GA pit on the stage, suggesting a lot of interaction, but Mannheim Steamroller and his support band seemed lost in all that extra space at times. He didn't seem to know what to do with it other than a lot of walking, except when alcohol was involved. Mannheim Steamroller didn't appear passionate or like he was enjoying himself. While he did a lot of autograph-signing and hand-slapping for his front row fans, and gestured to many deep in the seats, I still felt no connection to the performer. Maybe it was because the sunglasses very rarely came off. Glorification of drinking, not surprising given many of his songs subject matter, was still a bit juvenile. He seemed awkward on stage, and I left thinking he would be better off in small clubs than large arenas. At no time that I saw did he specifically acknowledge his band members by name, and the videographers gave Mannheim Steamroller almost all of their attention on the big screen. Granted, I missed the opening 15 minutes. There was little else to focus on when your attention wandered from Mannheim Steamroller, as mine often did. The man and his band played a double set, giving fans their money's worth in a long show.

Mannheim Steamroller never disappoints, I have seen him many times over the years! That's for sure - another 2 hour show, can't say you don't get your monies worth. We LOVE HIM, and you can tell he really loves his fans as a result. The venue was small, always good, which is. I had a very good seat, so I'm not in a position to comment on how the seats may have been towards the back - 3rd row center. They did have 2 large screens - one on each side of the stage, and all the seating was on one level. I will go again and again, as long as Mannheim Steamroller keeps coming out and I can get there.
